LEAPING OVER BARRIERS WITH DR. KAMETTA CLARK
Unlimited Hurdles is a Chicago and South Suburban-based mentoring initiative striving to increase self-awareness and the ability to build healthy relationships
within boys and girls ages 12-18 to become more effective in communication and decision making in their educational environments, homes, and future endeavors. Unlimited Hurdles is seeking to serve girls and boys who are stagnant in the areas of life mentioned or are just in need of enhancing or building on to what they have accomplished.

WHY I THRIVE
Chicagoland and South Suburban adolescents in underperforming school and are in poverty-
stricken neighborhoods are increasingly affected by violence and other trauma that sparks a need
for services to be provided for black and brown youth and adolescence. These areas are presented without equitable access to the attention, programming, aid, and social support provided to children in other geographical areas with higher-class resources.
Girls/women and boys/men of color are especially vulnerable to childhood trauma, sexual
violence, and sex trafficking that divert them from the school and into the juvenile justice
system. These risks are barriers to young women and young men’s future success in the world
that we live in.
